How to open .vdf?

i downloaded a game and the file extension is .vdf. How can i install it?
.vdf – that sounds familiar.
If you have only One file, and its extension is .vdf, then not sure…..
But I think you have more files…..
…like maybe few folders, and that files, am I right……
I think that there is no need to install the game.
If you have crack for that game, just Apply it in the right place, look for “bin” folder……
If you don’t have crack, Still looks for game .exe file if you can find it…..
Also, what game it is, from where did you download, could help…
Also, you can post screenshot of files/folders you have.

Yes it is a steam game `bioshock`. There is no .exe file. The folders are DLC, Engine and Xgame. The files in them are configuration settings. Instead of trying to figure out how to install it, i started to download the game from somewhere else and made sure it has required files in it. Thank you, both for ur time, but downloading it again seems easier..
