can a virus work without internet?
January 28th, 2020
depends on the virus type
for a keyloger the maker needs you to be online so the keyloger can send the keylogs to his mail
depends on the virus type
What do you mean by depend? No internet means no transfer I thought so how can I virus send stuff without internet connection?

keyloger needs you to have internet so it can send info to owner
other viruses are there only to screw up your files/os eaven hardware and those dont need net
I am talking like what you just said keylogger, so even if you have like a yellow screen warning sign and all that virus that says you need to buy this to clean your computer and all other types of virus it won’t send no data without internet right and it effect any stuff like an external hard drive for backing up data right?depends on the virus type

If there is a virus that wants to mess up your computer by going in to your external hard drive that you just plug it without internet can it make it in the external hard drive?
The only type of virus that would need an internet connection would be a keylogger.
All other viruses work without an internet connection.
The reason why a keylogger needs an internet connection is because a keylogger sends its information back to the person that created it.
all other viruses have only one purpose and that to cause mayhem and chaos within your computer.
Viruses have been around way before the internet is what it is today. So yes viruses don’t need internet to infect you. If someone brings over an infected file or usb you can get it that way too. As said above it depends on what virus is. If for example you had a pop up come up saying you need to install this or that, and you’re not connected to net i wouldn’t even think that’s safe. As you don’t know what else it’s doing to your files. So as far as getting passwords or data from computer, it will need to net to transfer it. But there are lots of viruses that once on computer, internet connected or not, can damage your system.
yes it can mostly virus comes through USB Drive so scan before use!
viruses can also come from a computer to a usb device…
