Movies not playing after a while

August 7th, 2016

I am really trying to find a solution to problems I am experiencing with movies I am downloading recently. And I mean only recently – last 3 months.
While watching a movie using my dvd player as a multimedia player I receive a “Cinavia Message Code 1”. My dvd player IS NOT connected wirelessly or via LAN to any device other than my external hard drive. I have been using this method for over 1 year with no issues until recently.
I have bought a multi media player (not a dvd player) to combat the problem. It did solve it for a month, however now movies are just stopping 30-40 minutes into the movie. No message given. The movie info does confirm that the movie should run for 1-2 hours.
I have ‘Googled’ and tried to implement suggestions to no avail.
I have noticed that it is usually movies with a “mkv” or “mp4” extension. I cannot even fast forward these movies.

Cinavia technology is a part of the content protection system included in Blu-ray Disc players.
The audio track of the video that you are playing contains a Cinavia code indicating it was intended for presentation using professional equipment only (for example, in a theater) and is not authorized for playback by consumers. Recommendations
If the video that you are playing is a professionally produced video (such as a movie or television show), you will need to obtain a copy that was made with the permission of the copyright owner.
If the video that you are playing back is a home movie or other personal recording, that includes some professionally produced content (including the audio track of a professionally produced movie or television show), you will need to either skip over the parts of the video that contain the professionally produced content during playback or else create or obtain a version of the video that does not include this protected material.
For additional information on Cinavia, see Cinavia Technology.

It is like audio copy protection. This comes in the newer machines. It is not the movie itself, but what is used for the play back. I bought a brand new Sony Blu-Ray drive about 3-4 months ago and the “movies” also had this warning and
could not watch it after 15-20 mins. When I download movies ripped here, didn’t experience it anymore.
From what I read, you can not beat the audio “copy protection” yet.

You might have just been lucky with the other movies – and then came across one with cinavia in it.
Only about 1 in 6 to 10 movies have cinavia – mainly the major releases.
The media player should be OK – it’s possible you have come across a few movies that it just doesn’t like the codec of.
Maybe it has a memory buffer than is “choking”, not being flushed from keyframe to keyframe.. or something liek it?
