what type of file should i download for my media player

so i have media player,but not all video format it can play

can help me,what actually the best video format i can play with this media player
i download mp4 but not all mp4 working

I guess with the limitations, I would encode an avi container using the xvid codec.
An MP4 container using a AVC H.264 codec would be the best for overall compatibility.
It would help a great deal if you gave us the model of the player rather than just the screenshot. “video code” doesn’t really give enough info on the options supported.

it doesn’t support 1080p or even AVC/AAC. bin it and build a cheapo htpc you can get a cheepo Celeron ivy bridge for 30 bucks matx mobos for around the same price.

Pretty ancient..
Looks like you are limited to .avi movies (that use XviD or DivX) So look for movies with Xvid or whatever in the title..
No mention of H.264 or x264 or AVC, so you won’t be able to do that (most mp4 or mkv stuff).
A new HD media player would be the go…Avail on eBay etc for under $40
