OK to sign in to microsoft account with cracked Office 2013?

Whenever I’ve used Office 2007 or 2010 from here in the past I’ve avoided using MS Update for the Office products, just in case they came out with some kind of ‘patch’ that detected a cracked installation or somehow block it. Now that I’ve moved to Office 2013 it’s geared much more toward signing in to my Outlook.com (or presumably comparable) account in order to benefit fully from the features like syncing etc.
Is it ‘safe’ to do that, do you think?
I’d rather not provide any unnecessary ways for MS to find me if there are some kind of built in traps that might be in the software to detect piracy. But if it’s perfectly safe to do so then I might as well use the cloud features that are available. Any input from anybody who would know?

Yes its safe as long as your not running loads of pirated office 2013 installs in a business you’ve nothing to worry about.

I don’t thing it is a proplem as long as you use it for a private use

If the find out, they will at most block you from using office (until you purchase a key of course)
