2) some technical know hows one need to have before starting a new site?
3) What uploaders want from a filehost?

Answer #1
corrections ……
3) what uploaders want from the file host !!
Answer #2
No offense, but if you don’t already know the answers to these questions I wouldn’t even attempt it.
1. To operate a successful filehosting business you’d have to put a lot of money into it. More than most people on here have.
2. Probably a little bit of everything.
3. I’m not sure anyone can answer that question as it makes no sense.
Edit:
You corrected #3 so I will answer it imo.
Seems these days most, not all of course, uploaders want a filehost with some type of affiliate program. Which means more money you’d have to spend.
Answer #3
1) At least $10.000 (a few dedicated servers and a custom-made script)
2) You can hire a web developer to build and maintain your website…
3) Good upload and download speed, and a feature to create back-up copies of the files for when they get reported…
Answer #4
4) Legal issues that you may have.
You need decent amounts of money to buy servers and stuff, people to run it (you can’t run it by your self once it gets big), you need to find a good programmer to build all the system with security measures and stuff…
My advise is to forget about it.
Answer #5
1) Costs involve to open one site?
5-10 Grand.
2) some technical know hows one need to have before starting a new site?
Bit of everything.
3) What uploaders want from a filehost?
Minimum 1GB upload size, good download speed, no waiting time/captcha.
4) Advice: Don’t get involved in this kind of business, at least not now.
Answer #6
^^^^^ why not to involve at this time? i knw abt megaupload case but i thnk ths is the moment people need something new!!
Answer #7
^^In fact people are not looking for new hosts! Downloaders are happy with RS,MF links.. It’s good.
If you introduce affiliate system, it won’t end well..

The warez world is shaken up, believe it’s not the right time. I might even say there isn’t one, there is always legal complications sooner or later…

Ok heres the plan!
1. Servers must be in vietnam! Vietnamese servers dont get caught by the USA!
2. 100 dollars for a lifetime account! Buy only once!
3. Free users are limited to 1 file per download! They have to wait 2 minutes between each files so dont be a jerk!
4. Premium paid users gets a download manager
The rest is up to you to decide!

vietnam servers are…
1. expensive
2. slow as fark
..so if you want to run a service with 1 KB/s speed to people with premium then ok go ahead.

I currently own a cloud hosting company, again its the same thing, users get the store any personal files on the internet and share with other users.
I would advise you that the legal issues involved are more headache than actually running the company, you got everyone on your case!!
I started small, I let my business grow and then slowly expanded.
No harm in starting your own file hosting but just be aware the laws in your country and the legal issues. Also have a tool in place to remove illegal files , the police, music and movies industries will be happy with that lol

We currently operate a file hosting website and I can confirm what everybody else has stated. You’ll need to find a team of people, someone who can code, and also operate the business and ensure that it stays alive (as, that’s the most important thing with file hosts).
Provided you’re not stupid, you will not end up in jail, so please don’t let that put you off.
Check:

for our filehost. Make sure you have lots and lots and lots of time, because it took us ages to get it ready to launch.

Btw look at file host like fso. Ur new "site" stand nowhere. Just leave the idea here.

If you’re going to reply please make it constructive. Provided you obey the laws you CAN’T get put into jail. If he wants he can make a filehost. I did and although it’s not the biggest we have a few people using it, and that’s the most important thing

No body talked about ‘advertizing’. If you got everything in place, you still have to motivate people to use your service, when they are already used to using their current ones.
My advice, too, is don’t bother!
