Sub-Titles

I’ve downloaded several French documentaries originally broadcast on various TV channels.
I cannot find transcripts for them on the ‘usual’ subtitle sites.
They must be somewhere as they were originally embedded for the ‘hard of hearing’ (malentendants).
Any ideas where?

Unfortunately it’s more mainstream – Films and TV Series
I’m finding trsanscripts of documentaries are very rare (non-existant)

I think my problem is that the documentaries are a bit obscure for someone to spend time transcribing them? A lot of them are 2nd World War docs etc.
When they were broadcast there would have been sub-titles on them (at least optional) for the hard-of-hearing. When I downloaded them would that still be in the download?
If so, would there be a way that I could (re) activate this some way?
