winrar “next volume required”
August 3rd, 2016
First up let me say I did look for this answer but got no joy.
When I’m extracting files for a game I click on the first one and it starts off but
then I get a message saying next volume is required and I have to select the next file in line. Its not to bad of a problem but it means I have to sit there for an hour selecting the next file. My current game has 70 files.
I have tried to get it to move on to the next by its self but I just can’t figure it out. Please say someone knows a quicker way?
put all files in the same directory, and make sure they are numbered. What are you extracting and where did you download it?
As long as all the volume archives are located in the same file it should automatically move onto the next one.
I don’t have a clue on that, but did you try renaming all files to something like: 1, 2, 3, etc.
I know it’s not the solution you look for, but I think it’s worth a try.
Hey,
I’m extracting the Witcher (PC game) and I got off rapid share. 70 winrar files in total.
They are all in the same folder, I open the first one and extract the iso to a new folder and after about 30 seconds it asks me to find the next file. So I click browse and select the next one and then repeat until its done.
After the process I open the new folder and it has the iso file but it just taks so long – If I had any hair I’d be pulling it out!
I renamed all the files to 1,2,3…. and they now open without me. Happy days
Cheers all
Hi guys. You need a file joiner programme such as this one here: http://freebyte.com/hjsplit/#hjjoin The files you are downloading have been split to enable faster sharing so they need to be put back together again.
Hope this helps

No, his files are not split. He had a multi-part archive.
But it seems the problem has been solved. Lock?
