volume issues

August 2nd, 2016

I did a clean install and installed the missing sound driver and now the volume sounds like its low compared to the sound that was coming from my old pc. could this be a bad driver or am i just not use to the new sound card difference?
my old computer I had my speaker volume set at 2 and pc volume all the way and it was loud for that setting, but now the new computer with the same volume setup sounds low. what could be causing this?
when I adjust the volume to go up or down the internal beep sound comes on how can i disable that or what is causing that to happen?

Answer #1
Download the latest sound driver for your PC and see if it changes anything. Also, what beeps do you hear? DO you hear the beeps coming from the speakers or from the PC itself? Good luck mate ^_^
Answer #2
Start/Control Panel/Sound and Audio Devices
Have you checked all the settings here?
I’d reinstall the sound card because you shouldn’t be getting a beep.
Also, check your BIOS for any audio settings.

Answer #3
there might also be a PC speaker mute/volume setting in the sound mixer
Answer #4
leave all the tabs and sliders on max and make sure its using your sound card in the devices tab
Answer #5
thx for the help, I tried everything.
putting mixers to max, checked speaker settings. Uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and made sure wires were connected, and the sound still sounds low at the same settings. here is the specs to my computer http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00363478&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1162597&lang=en
audio:
Controller: AC-97 Realtek ALC650/658 6-channel CODEC chipset
Dolby 5.1 audio support

I used the driver off the hp website
could this have something to do with audio codecs?
