Winrar File Split Query

This is a very noob question i would like to know about..
When i am splitting a video to get splitted parts of 400mb each, i am entering 400mb in the Split to volume box, but after splitting the file sizes are 381Mb.
what do i need to put in the Split to volume box to get splitted parts having sizes like exact 400Mb or say exact 300Mb and so on.
I use the store method of compression in winrar.
Please guide

Using Winrar? It will make each part exactly the size you tell it to, and when it gets to the last part and there is only 381mb left, you will have a 381mb file.
Keep in mind tho,
419,430,400 bytes = 400 MB

but after splitting the file sizes are 381Mb
It’s because of the difference between megabytes and mebibytes. A megabyte is equal to 1,000,000 bytes while a mebibyte is equal to 1,048,576 bytes.
(400 x 1,000,000) / (1024×1024) = 381 MiB however Windows’ method of displaying it is a bit confusing for some.
In order to get exactly 400MB displayed for the file type it like this into WinRAR
419430400 bytes

LOL… thats because winrar compresses the files
If you want to split the files EXACTLY to 400MB then I suggest hj split

This works, that is exactly how the presets are entered.

I think 1024 is good and better. But generally we use 1000.

Im an uploader. I repack so many files using winrar; you really think I dont know how to do it?
The space in between does make a difference but also the way how you write MB. if you write ‘400 MB’ you’ll get files smaller than 400mb but if you write ‘ 400 mb’ then you’ll get files of filesize exactly equal to 400mb.
