Videos not playing in respective resolution?

August 8th, 2016

So I downloaded Django off of here. Claiming to be 1080p bluray, and it was a 2.2GB download. Well, despite the claim and the size of the file, it doesn’t look like HD to me. Is there a certain player or settings I need to change to view 1080p files? IDK. Just definitely doesn’t look HD.
Thanks

would help to know what your viewing it on and the post you got it from movie is from 1966 so what do you expect they never used HD back then plus the cameras were no so good and depending on what source they used to make the blu-ray could just be upscaled from SD

You’ve likely downloaded one of them low-quality full-HD MKV rips. While the resolution might be that of a full-HD video, the quality is far from it as can be seen by the difference in file size. If you want to experience full-HD, you’ll need to download a full-HD bluray rip which generally clocks in at around 10GB

How are you trying to view this movie??
If TV, you need a 1080 TV for viewing. My old tv was 480, I would only view 480 with a 1080 quality movie.
You trying to view on your PC? Then you need the right hardware.

I was playing it on my laptop. Samsung Series 3(np300e5e), pretty confident it’s capable of playing anything. It was playing it on Windows Media, then VLC, and tried MPC.
I suppose what says holds true. I’ve downloaded hour long “true” 720p tv shows that were 2.2 GBs. Django 1080p would have been twice the movie length, and a step up in definition, but the same size? I’ll just have to be more careful next time.
Thanks guys
