January 26th, 2020

well i just found out today that my up button on my 360 controller’s dpad doesn’t work. every other button works. any tips on how to fix it. buying another controller isn’t a option.
Answer #1
Take it apart and see if a part is loose.
Answer #2
this is actually the first time i really used it within the past month.
Answer #3
Get your screwdriver out and have a fiddle about. Might need cleaning or something.
Its not too hard. Have a go… ATB
Answer #4
get it repaired..maybe a wire has loosen.
Answer #5
well i took it apart and switched the clear rubber thingy for the dpad around and it works. although i really don’t understand how it stopped working in the first place
Answer #6
it’s back and i highly doubt moving the rubber thingy will help it.
Answer #7
just buy a new controllers…yea sucks but no up pad…gotta be rough on some games that use that frequently..unless a shop or something could fix it…but it would probably cost as much as a new controller to fix
Answer #8
i don’t have the money to buy a new controller.
Edit
oddly enough i put a lot of pressure on it and it works but i highly doubt it’ll stay like that for long.

i kno its ridiculous then you go a year later to trade it in and they wanna give you 15 bux at gamestop…go figure
Answer #12
Try water. Seriously. (By water I mean moist on a cloth, don’t shower the controller ).
Answer #13
you try cleaning the contacts where the “clear rubber thingy” connects to
a pencil eraser might work, or very fine sandpaper (lightly applied)
you see any splits/cracks in the “clear rubber thingy”

1. i’ll try that in a bit
2. no there are no cracks in the “clear rubber thingy”.
edit
put it back together and same thing. still have to apply a lot of pressure to make it work
