uh, your not going to like what i am going to say, the reason its “broke” is because your brother does not wash his hands when he plays and dirt got in.
LICK IT!!!!!!! LICK IT GOOD!!!!!!!!
lol, not kidding, video of guy of youtube licking his ds to fix his shoulder buttons.

any other way ? i mean if this is the last options, it wont kill me to try it ROFLMAO XDD WTF LOL

Don’t open it or anything. Just send it and download torchlight and let you lil bro crawl his way through dungeons. And by no time your DsI would have returned from the Nintendo factory and you will still have a warrnty just incase something goes wrong again.
Answer #4
and if you don’t want to send it in or lick it… try to blow it out with some compressed air. either in a can or in an air compressor.
Answer #5
and that was some good suggestions i wont like ~love~ man XD even if its fixed it will smell later ^^
anyways, will report back with whatsup later today !

lol, in the video there is also optional non licking directions too.

2. Put a spec of water on it (Or rubbing alcohol)
3. Put it around the R button and blow.

Sometimes the magnet thingy that is used between button and circuit board goes bad. you can replace that and see if it works, to find another of those would be tough though. i used that method to fix older game systems, like removed it from pause button and put it for start button. but for this DSi you dont have spare ones you can use.
I suggest sending it back to get fix by professionals or sell it and get new one.
