The blue screen comes

January 21st, 2020

The blue screen comes up every time I plug in a usb device? Every time I plug in a usb device on my lenovo t60p laptop whether it’s a flash drive, ipod, or mouse it gives me the blue error screen and it reboots. I don’t know much about it, but at the bottom it says “dumping physical memory to disk” or something like that, and something about a crash dump. I am running Windows 7 and I don’t know what is wrong and how can I fix this?
when I use PCI Card which support usb 4 ports its works fine but I can’t boot usb stick anymore via PCI please help me …!

Go herehttp://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detectand run the update utility. If you have a corrupted chipset driver this should repair it. If the problem still exists you just have to start some debugging steps. Software conflicts, virus/malware, etc…and possibly a bad motherboard.http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/blue-screen-after-plugging-in-usb-device/f478a22f-48e9-4053-bb6f-341f493fa00bThis might give you some more detailed info.

I’d need the minidumps in order to figure it out (They’re located in c:\windows\minidump)
Answer #3
I can be many things:
driver – check in device manager to see if there are any yellow or red markers on the usb ports.
driver (there but corrupted somehow) – depending on the chipset, re-download the appropriate driver (e.g. intel software installation utility; Intel Inf Install 940_1022)
virus – scan with malwarebytes.
memory error – test with memtest 5.2 (5.1 ??)
physical motherboard port damage – new MB (leave this until last, do all the simple tests and fixes first!)
I’m ruling out the actual usb stick as I presume that you’ve tried multiple usb drives.

This could mean 2 things, the USB port itself is defective, or your RAM could be defective.
The easiest way to check if your RAM is defective is by using memtest86.
http://memtest86.com/
Burn it to a CD, and let it run it for a few a hours. Don’t stop it after 1 run, but leave it run for at least 5 rounds. But preferably 5 hours orso.
If it doesn’t give you any errors, your RAM should be fine, and probraly some part on motherboard is broken. Bring it to a repair center nearby in that case, because they can open your notebook and check your motherboard for the defective part, and possibly replace it. If they can’t fix it, I’m afraid that it’s time for a new notebook.

try to uninstall and reinstall the USB controller. also, can you use it in safe mode..?
