Splitting the size of a file.
August 3rd, 2016
However the current game I am trying to upload has 1gb parts *8 parts total* and rapidshare, fileserv, and mu all do not allow a free member to upload something that large.
My question to you is how can I break a .rar into smaller parts so I can upload them and give back to the community .
Thanks guys!
Use winrar mate:
I do use winrar, I just have never put anything into a .rar or split up the one I already had. I’m sure I will figure it out though. Can you resize already made .rars? Like I have 8 1gb .rar files for cod black ops, and I want to upload it to fileserv, rs and mu, but the files are to large. So do I extract the iso, and resize it all to like 200mb’s each, or can I make the 1gb .rar files smaller? I dunno, maybe this isn’t making any sense, I just got off work and Im tired lol.
No…Don’t extract the ISO…Just split the iso to multi-parts using the option in the image I posted..You can type in what ever size you want..
What would a good file size be then for people to download? Again this is for a free rapidshare/mu/fs account. I think the max is 1024mb’s on those sites. The total file size is 8gbs.
Thanks again btw I found that, but whats a good size per file?
It’s very hard to tell mate…
Some people with fast connection..Don’t mind how big the file is…Like myself…The bigger the better…
Some people with slow connection and no resume option..Prefer smaller parts..
The most usual posted sizes are 100 and 200 MB files…Some file hosts don’t allow uploading files bigger than 200 MB…
It’s all up to you…
I’d rather see you extract the ISO (done already to install the game ?) then split it into 100-200mb parts
then it’s a single extraction
i personally Get cheesed off when I Download something then I find out the iso been extracted…Especially When It’s a bootable iso…
Very few file hoists will allow you to upload 8 GB file..And it will be a pain to download for most users…

not saying upload the ISO intact
saying split the ISO not the 1gb rars
which you said above Just split the iso to multi-parts
because saidhow can I break a .rar into smaller parts
I decided to simply take the iso and .rar it into 200mb files. In doing so I found out I do need a faster processor lol, it probably shouldn’t take an hour to do 8gigs haha.
