Reduce the size of a PDF file

Hi there,
There is an ebook i’d like to read but its size is too big for my HD which is practically full by the way. I’m planning anyway to buy an external HD not now but in the near futur.
So for the time being, can someone reduce the size of the PDF file?

I just found another download link with a huuuuge PDF file (probably because of the picture inside)
I’m planning on going to my neighbor’s, use his internet connection to download the file and then shrink it before transfering it to my computer.
What software should I use to shrink the PDF file without too much loss of quality ?

I use Acrobat but I’m sure there are other apps to shrink them…
