January 24th, 2020
So, lets start …
I connected two pc’s …
The first PC works (it has .net connection), but the other one says:
Limited or not conectivity …
Help pls (((
How is it connected? Wired or wireless? What sort of internet/router do you have? Could do with some more info please
Im using a SWITCH …
I called the ISP, they said me, I would have to configure the SWITCH somehow ..
hmmm ((
do you have the manual for the switch ?
if so .. read it and look for the switch’s ip
use the computer that dosent have problems … use your browser and enter that ip
ahmm
I’ll try that .. Thank you.
What you need is a router, not a switch. A switch separates network traffic. A router does what the name implies. I think you will find your problem goes away if you get a router.
Here’s a tutorial:

+1. We use a router here at home.
i think if you are using a switch, you hve to have a dual lan card for one of your pc’s (which will sever as the net server…) so better get a router, it’s way much easier

alot of the modem / routers that isp’s ship out will only assign 1 ip, if you hook up a switch and only 1 machine is getting an ip, then you need a separate router….. if when you hook up your new router you dont get internet on either computer, first reboot your cable / dsl modem… if still no dice keep reading
look at your ip address that is being assigned by the cable / dsl modem…. most of the time is somthing like 192.168.y.z
then hook up the new router, and see what ip your getting now … again probably somthing like 192.168.y.z
if the number in the “y” position is the same, you need to change the ip of one of the routers (usually easier on the one you just purchased) … log into the web interface of that router and change the”y” to somthing else…. save changes, reboot both the modem and router for good measure, mabe even your workstations…. and you should be set ……
Yes, that worked for me when I was using diferent ISP ..
I should call them and ask for their IP and try the same ..
Thanks for reminding me
Guys, I bought a router..
It’s called “Gembird BroadBand Router” .
But It doesnt work, by just connecting the cabels and done..
I think I have to configure something …
I need a thing called MAC adres, with 12numbers, NOT SURE
Any idea !?
EDITED: solved
