Internet/Xbox Problems

I have a 30 mb connection my phones arnt connected to wireless (virgin media superhub 1 ) im connected on my laptop posting this but my xbox wont connect….
ive tested it via xbox it connects to the router but says internet is down which it cant be because im posting this
could somebody give me an idea is to why this?
its not xbox one i have its the model before xbox360 the shiny one built in wireless etc………just annoying me HELP
