[solved] Google Drive: Files Invisible

January 26th, 2020

I put some podcasts & artwork on my gdrive. Today I access my account and thought my files were gone because I’m not seeing any.
Using the search bar I found them and they’re where they’re supposed to be.
Playing the podcasts has got them to be visible again. I used music player for gdrive to play them.
For demonstration purposes I’m showing search results for the artwork images with no attempt yet to “restore” them.

The 2 jpg files should be visible within the same folder as the mp3 files
I have tried a second browser to compare results and both browsers see the same thing.
Any help in this matter is appreciated. Playing all files will be more a hassle as more files get added.

Well this happens all the time and it’s a fault from their end and settings, you can’t fix it and they just ignore the complaints, this is the reason I abandoned gdrive, go to an alternative service (Onedrive, Mega, Copy, Box or you could also use soundcloud/mixcloud for music files only).
Answer #2
I’m glad it’s not just me.
Doing a full search for “.” seemed to bring everything back again.
Since it’s solely for my saved podcasts, I may consider soundcloud or mixcloud but will need to get more info before i start storing files there. I was going to use my onedrive account originally, but since i never used my gdrive for anything i thought I’d try it out.
I’m losing faith in normal file host companies so I’m staying away form them for my personal file storage needs.

soundcloud and mixcloud are very good for what they offer. If you need them only for audio, then you will not find anything better for the price…
