Partition created with paragon on External drive:invisible
July 26th, 2016
Purchased an external USb drive 596GB.Fat32 .
I created with “Paragon” a Primary partition Of ntfs,
Immediately after The fat32 partition
leaving 70GB Of Fat32 and creating 524gb Of NTFS.
result:
Windows SEES JUST 70gb OF Fat32,and don’t see ntfs (3.01) partition ..WHAT’s WRONG?
Paragon instead still see the second created partition.
I use Windows Xp sp1 ,and i left 70gb fat32 so i can plug The USB external drive also To DvD-player and so ON..
Please ..NInJ-Help..i dunno why Winz does’nt see Ntfs.
With Paragon .only thing i did’nt assegn a letter to the partition, but i did read is Ok also not assingning letter and letting windows assigning
Some Partition Tools stupidly hide a partition once you created it…Try to run again and see if you can unhide the partition…or even better use Acronis Disk Director Suite insted…
Thanks .a guy told me Isimply CAN’t CEATE 2 PRIMARY PARTITIONS,evenif with different filesystems ,on the sameHD ,
because one GEt HIDDEN automatically.
IS IT TRUE?
I should create Extended Instead, but PARAGON LEAVES JUST 2 options:
Primary AnD LOGICAL , not extended ..Maybe i did’nt find the voice Extended as i don’t know the program?
Gotta run to work, hope Someone could help me to sortOut ..THANKS IN ADVANCE I’m Breathless ..GRRR
The first partition should be primary…the rest Should be logical…You don’t need no more than 1 primary partition for each drive…
Yep You are right-
But As I know ,it should be 1 primary..than EXtended and in the”extended” you create the logicals.
Paragon does’nt give me the voice “extended” as avaialable to do .
It sees my other extended (system drives internal),but i did’nt find the voice “make extended partition”
…Or he does automatically?
Because i want to partition in 2 Logical ntfs (1 ntfs for data, the other for Samples-music) ,so 1fat +2ntfs
Ok i ‘ve done an extended partition (finally).
But still Windows does’nt see damn ntfs.
It see just the Fat32.
It’s because USB has some limitation In That?
Ok Looks I GOT..IT WAS MY FIRST QUESTION /DOUBT
YOU MUST assing a drive letter ,otherwise Windows does’nt see THE USB partitions,
That IS.
Cheers and BYE.
…Give Acronis Disk Director Suite a go…You never go back…
No idea what the above post is all about…
I simply said that ,ON a USB EXTERNAL drive, if You create more partitions, and Primary has a different filesystem than extended,
without forcing a letter assignement Windows DOES’NT see.
So windows does’nt assign automatically The letters ,but you have to force .
And to avoid Possible conflicts with Future card readers /usb pendrive and soon (some of them could “claim” the same letter and cause conflict in future) Is better to hoose uncommon Leeters (Z,Y whatever).
I just made the mistake toTrust WindowsIN that lol.
Thanks for the suggestion on ACRONIS,
sure i will check it out Next Time!!
Take care and to the next
