accidentally cleared partition table of my external hdd
May 12th, 2023
i was using testdisk and i accidentally cleared my partition table.now i am trying to get it back but it always says “write is unavailable because partition table type “none” has been selected.
i dont know what to do now,i just want that my pc detects that damn thing again under “my computer”.i dont want to save any data as i have just deleted all of them today,so thats not a problem.
is there any hope or did i kill it?
Try this: DiskInternals.Partition.Recovery.2.9http://www.google.com?t=1777486

if this is a 2ndary drive boot to windows and use windows disk mgt to partition the drive
put
diskmgmt.msc
into a run or search box
thanks, but i think this is just to recover files from my lost partition, isnt it?
and thats not what i need,i just need my external hdd to be partitioned again
edit: i dont know if it is a 2ndary drive, its a usb external hdd,no clue if thats secondary or whatever
ah,now i see what you mean ,i am going to try that
thanks
no clue if thats secondary
not your OS drive
so if you can boot to windows try what I suggested, if thee drive gets connected and shows in disk mgt just rt click it and select create partition
Use TestDisk with the deep search option. It might be able to bring them back.
I tried using TestDisk before, it is quite helpful
