[SOLVED] Everything’s fine and suddenly audio goes out

August 5th, 2016

I’m listening to music and stuff everything working just fine but then, sometimes when I try to reproduce a song windows media player says it cannot be reproduced because of a problem with the sound device, same happens with videos and the only when to fix it is restarting the computer. why does this happen? I already uninstalled my audio driver (Realtek) and installed it again but it didn’t solve the problem.
ps: It’s not just windows media player, same happens with other players… computer is left completely without sound!!

Answer #1
UN-install your audio driver using an uninstaller tool!
Now download the latest drivers and install back!
Answer #2
Running Vista or XP?
There’s a known bug with Vista for older chipsets that cuts off sound devices randomly. I’ve experienced it myself a long time back

What a “KNOWN” bug, -it’s pure bull sh-it my friend.
just chipset is too old for Vista, not bug in Vista.

Youre on XP not Vista, so how Vista can affect your comp? From other hand, if you downloaded SP3, then yes-SP3 can affect your sound.
Answer #7
could it be that this had something to do with DirectX? ’cause I “updated” (” ” ’cause I’m sure I had the latest one) it the error has not happened again.
thanks all of you for your help! appreciated.
