[Solved] Certain website suddenly won’t load anymore.

August 1st, 2016

I need help figuring this out. There is a certain website that may or may not be a file host that has always worked for me.
A couple of weeks ago I was going to register an account on the website so I brought up the registration page, typed in all the info, and pushed submit and it did nothing for half an hour so I refreshed the page and it would not load again. Ever since then it hasn’t worked. Every rare now and again the website will load right up but links on the page wont work. Two days ago it loaded right up and everything worked fine… later that day and ever since then it hasnt loaded at all.
Most of the time the site’s icon will show up on the address bar. Not sure if that means anything. The browser shows: “DNS error – server cannot be found.” Other times it says page cannot be found and clicking “diagnos connection problems” gives me: “The remote device or resource won’t accept the connection.”
I have tried different browsers, rebooting, flushing dns in cmd, using different dns servers in browser and router, flashing the latest router firmware, deleting cookies, etc. Also none of the computers on my network load the website anymore, not even my phone connected through its wifi, although the phone will load the page with its 3G connection.
Im getting frustrated and don’t know what to do.

Answer #1
Sounds like a problem with your ISP
Answer #2
Well, today I plugged my pc directly into my cable modem and the website works perfectly fine, so the router is doing something to keep the site from working. I don’t know what I can do to fix it. I have tried changing the dns server in the router with no effect. Now I have it back to automatically using my ISPs server.
What else in a routers settings might cause this to happen?
Answer #3
Might be the firewall.
Answer #4
I got everything working. I scrapped the router manufacturers firmware and flashed the DD-WRT firmware to it and everything is great.
Ill never know why that problem existed though…
Answer #5
What is DD-WRT firmware and how it can be flashed on my TP-Link Router? Coz I am facing problem – few sites are unable to be opened and the browser tries to upload the site infinitely i.e. no error is shown or it occasionally shows that site can’t be uploaded…
Plz Reply early…
Answer #6
Ive never used a tp-link router and each router has its own specific firmware so I cant help you too much. Use google to find the DD-WRT website and search for your router. If they have made a firmware for it, there will be a download and most likely help files to help you get it up and running. Good luck.
