“Sleep” problem with my laptop help me

i am having recently an annoying problem with my laptop..
when i close the lid my laptop goes to sleep but when i reopen it and press the power button my laptop doesn’t wake up and i have to turn it off ! any help?
You might wanna add the spec of your laptop (brand , memory , hard drive , xp or vista?…) so we can have a general idea of what we might deal with.
But you might try to go to the control panel then choose the power option and setup the computer sleep and standby mode

I know what the problem is guys it has happened to me before. It is the video card drivers you are using that is causing the problem. If you have a 6800u or 7800GTX use these drivers;

Whatever drivers you are using try something different if Dell -> Try ATI Catalyst if Catalyst or Forceware try Dell etc. In my case it was Dell drivers that caused problems with my Latitude D610.
