Ripping BluRay discs to MKV (or ISO) – a few questions

February 7th, 2020

1) Do I need to have a BluRay Player? If so, what do I need?
2) Is there a way to rip BluRay to MKV/ISO?
3) Would the file size be able to fit on a DVD-5 and still retain atleast 720p (for converting to ISO)?
4) What softwares would I need?
5) Would the MKV size be between 300MB – 700MB (for the 300MB HQ rip thread: http://www.google.com?t=1455047 – I’m thinking of doing something like that) for 1080p rip? 720p rip/conversion?
6) Am I missing anything (not asking any certain questions)?
Thanks a lot.
If you guys help me out, I’ll be able to do BluRay rips and I’ll post em up here.
THANKS!

No you can’t rip BluRay discs. If that was possible than we would’ve had ripped PS3 games on this forum.
Don’t worry, you will be able to do that soon, technology never lets us down.
EDIT – I was mistaken. There seems to be a tutorial on how to do that. Here is the link for the steps :

1. Not necessarily, you can download Full Blu-Ray and rips and use them as your source. I use a LG SATA Internal Blu-ray/HD DVD-ROM Drive GGC-H20L $109.99
2. yes.
3. depends how long the movie, @ 720p any movie should fit on DVD-5 with good quality.
4. AnyDVD HD, mkvmerge GUI, tsMuxerGUI, eac3to, video & audio converter, etc.
5. I dont deal with 300mb, only mHD and up.
6. idk.

There’s actually a surprisingly massive amount of ripped PS3 games available for download. And you CAN boot these copied games, but it involves removing the outer part of your PS3 and swapping the discs in through the top of the disc drive.
