Recover Lost Google Rank

May 15th, 2020

A few months back my joomla site got hacked with viagra and cialis spam keywords It was too bad to fix, so I switched hosting companies and recreated my website using word press. Before the hack, I was number 1 for my desired queries. Those rankings cost me about $3500 with a highly respected corporate SEO company in Toronto. Now I’m at the bottom of the first or top of the 2nd and business is dropping off, because in my business the number 1 or 2 rank is most important. With SEO practices changing everyday, it’ll now cost me almost double to start a new SEO campaign again Is there any way to recover the lost rank without starting a new SEO campaign? I’ve already been reviewed by google and had the warning lifted from my site.

Do you have a backup of your previous joomla site? Then there is a chance to regain your google rank. I can guide you through this process but you have to switch back to joomla.

If you have had the warning lifted from Google then the best way to recover rankings is to redirect all the old pages to the new ones. So If you have a backup of what all the old URLs where on Joomla you can 301 redirect them all to the new URLs on WordPress. That way all the investment that you made on the original site will now be lost and the “juice” from the old side will pass across. If you would like any more information or assistance please PM me. Hope you are able to regain your rankings.

I did all the redirects, but I haven’t seemed to have recovered any rank. As I said, I used to be number one for a variety of search terms and now I’m lucky if I’m on page 2 or 3

I know that the manual penalty has been lifted but you could also be looking at an algorithmic penalty. This could be content related, possibly duplicate content, thin content or over optimized content. Alternatively it could be related to a bad batch of backlinks that are pointing to your domain. Have you looked at either of these in terms of cleaning them up. Unfortunately I am yet to see a site FULLY recover from a penalty issues by Google. I have got a site back up to a decent standard but not exactly where they were before. There are so many factors to take into consideration and a number of algorithms that the problems can be associated with that it can take a long, long time to regain the rankings you once had.

So how would I explore an algorithmic penalty or one related to content?
