Problem with a Virus

January 25th, 2020

Hi, I recently pickup up a virus from somewhere, not quite sure where and I’m having a bit of difficulty getting rid of it.
First of all, I noticed some kind of adware because as I was browsing all my usual forums/websites, bits of text were hyperlinked to and if you clicked on them it brings you to a search engine of some sort where the text that was linked was searched. Also, every now and then an add for one of those dating websites popped up at the bottom right of my screen.
After this, I did a scan with NOD32 and got a few results which I deleted and I was still having the problem, so I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware and did a scan with that, giving even more results. Even after both of those however, I was still getting these odd problems.
Next I was noticing Malwarebyte’s giving a popup message in the bottom right of my screen saying that it had blocked Malicious access to, among others – 66.179.234.169.
After this had happened, I had had enough and this morning I booted into Safe Mode and ran a full scan of all drives with both Malwarebyte’s and NOD32, both gave no results so I restarted my computer, assuming it was fixed. Once again I am getting the popup messages for both the dating site and the IP Address.
Anybody got any idea how I can solve this problem and get rid of all the viruses/adware or whatever the hell this stuff is?
Thanks a lot for any help you can offer.

If your running your system with the System Restore turned on you will have to turn it off probally the problem has now been saved there and each time you remove it, it brings itself back, once you turn off system restore do your scan with malwarebytes, also go to START, RUN, type in MSCONFIG and go to the START tab, now look and uncheck anything you dont know, blanks and others will be checked uncheck them, leave alone the one that says ccApp, antivirus and firewall, then reboot, this should fix it for you

Ok, I did all that and it’s still not fixed, I still get the popups at the bottom left and the ip blocked thing. Also, my PC keeps crashing.

can you do a scan in safe mode with malwarebytes?? because i know you said you got nod32, but thats your anti virus program, where malwarebytes is your anti spyware adware program… so use malwarebytes in safe mode scan and see what it finds then.

I allready did scan with malwarebyte’s in safe mode, I did NOD32 and Malwarebyte’s and they both returned no results.
Now I don’t seem to have any of the adware link things but instead, some websites or forums don’t load and if I play a game, I seem to be getting huge lagspikes.

Did u check for any odd processes in task manager? if yes lets say u get like me had the a.exe and b.exe virus check on google a.exe and it should give you a site where it says for what the processe is used for and if itsa malware etc itll tell you how to remove it

What you can try is updating your java script and then load msconfig, go to start-run type ms config. In the system up tab, see if you have a program along the lines of ifedtsco (or close to) that’s located in c:\windows/SYSTEM32 folder, if you have, restart you’re pc, press F8 and go in to safe mode, delete it in safemode, reboot. and hopefully you should be o.k. but as forsaken pointed out open your task manager ctrl+alt+del and look in processes and see if you got any weird names or whatever, but please check with google the process names, as they usually tell you if there good or bad. hope this helps.
