PC Graphics Card Help

January 21st, 2020

Hi,
Im looking to upgrade my graphics card but dont know if the card will be compatible.
I want to know if I can use a PCI-E Graphics card; is it the same as PCI?? My motherboard is Asus A7S8X-MX and the graphics card I want is the Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 3450 1GB

Answer #1
That’s an AGP motherboard. It doesn’t PCI-E. PCI is not PCI-E. Tough luck finding an AGP card nowadays.
Answer #2
Better upgrade!!!
Can’t find AGP… even if you found it wont worth it!!!
Answer #3
Ok, Thanks guys, any recommendations?
Answer #4
For an AGP card?
It all depends on your budget and your current specs and your goal for what you want to do….
Or do you want to upgrade your mobo?
Specs?
Budget?
Answer #5
Recommendations for a mobo, fudge the old shabby AGP Cards!!
Answer #6
What is your other PC specs?
What is your budget?
What is your goal for your pc?…gaming/graphic design..
Answer #7
ok heres the minimum requirements:
PC Specs:
AMD Dual processor 2 GHz
250 GB Hard Drive
DVD-R/+R Dual layer writer
2GB RAM
HD 512 MB Graphics Card
Budget: 250-500 GBP
Goal: Gaming, Graphics design and Multimedia (i.e. Movies)
Answer #8
Right but what are your CURRENT PC’s specs… I’m not going to recommend you a 200$ mobo / 300$ cpu when the rest of your specs are horrible and can’t even handle the load (PSU/ram)
Answer #9
Ohh right, AMD Processor Semprom 2500+ 1.75 GHZ
1GB RAM
160GB (x2 80GBs)
ATI Radeon 9250 250 MBs Graphics card
budget for new motherboard will be 75 GBP
Used for Gaming, High def movies (full 1080p)
Answer #10
Problem is:
1. Your CPU is socket A, and none support PCI-E
2. 75GBP = 115~USD won’t get you a new video card + motherboard
Not sure about your PSU, but it’s probably 150-300 which is probably not high enough to support new hard ware.
You will probably need to upgrade a few parts and will cost at least 400$
Answer #11
So I’m better off buying a whole new unit i guess, Thanks for you help, I’ll go ahead and download you ty file as a free user
One last thing = whats the best site to get cheap custom built PCs?
Answer #12
I’ve heard good things about pcspecialist.co.uk from UK people.
Answer #13
Yea, and their finance option is reasonable as well. Might just give them a try
