Help regarding graphics card

i have acer aspire z3771… when i check display adapters in device manager it shows nvidea geforce gt520 graphics card…. but i am not able to play movies…their pixels split ….also when i run dxdiag …in display it shows standard vgs graphics driver n approx total memory n/a… please help..

The driver is not installed, Get it from here:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers
For future reference, You should ALWAYS install the needed drivers after you reinstall the OS.

i have done it from this website,,…. i let website search the drivers for me… i also installed from acer website

You’re sure it has the graphics card and not onboard graphics then? screen shot your device manager and your dxdiag graphics screen.
uninstall all drivers, and remove device from device manager. Scan for hardware changes, and reinstall new driver from Nvidia.

What video player are you using?
Try going into its folder and right clicking and selecting “run with graphics processor” -> “high performance nvidia..”
If that works then put a manual setting into the nvidia drivers for that player executable.

I think vlc uses gpu decoding, so try my idea of “tun with high performance..” (a few posts above).

i just installed windows 8 trail version……everything works fine but not in windows 7
