No sound in videos

I’ve recently installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop. After installing windows, i installed all the required programs and drivers.
Everything worked fine…until new year. You see, the problem I’m experiencing is that when I’m surfing the net (using Google Chrome) and i go to YOUTUBE for example, i can see the video, but cant hear any sound.
Now, the interesting part is that i tried installing another browser (firefox and opera), and it still wouldn’t work.
I also downloaded a couple of videos in order to see if the problem was with my computer. The downloaded videos worked fine. In other words…i could hear the sound.
Every site i go to and watch videos…same thing…NO SOUND.
Anyone who thinks he knows what to do or has experienced the same problem, please leave a reply on solving it. You could also PM me.

That that imply your issue has been resolved?
Actually no…i tried everything from |Leader|s post, but still nothing.
Although, Firefox seems to be working better. All i have to do is wait for the video to load and then play it.
Still need some help. If anyone knows how to resolve it…please share.
