No internet access thru cabled connection, tethering works

I just started using a desktop PC again, i don’t have cable so i used my smartphone to make internet connection for it. Now, I bought cables, connect it to the PC but it says no internet access

1) First check if light is ON where you have plugged cable in your PC and the corresponding port in your router as well
2) try to find IP address assigned from your router (the DHCP server needs to be enabled otherwise static IPs need to be configured)
3) Try PINGing your default gateway as found in step 2
Follow above steps and see if problem is resolved, otherwise PM me.
