Help! Phone Android Tethering for 2.2 connection to pc 4 net

Hi I bought this cheap phone but didnt realise how hard it would be to use it as a modem for computer internet connection.
does anyone have any info or apps

go to settings> wireless and networks> tethering and hotspot settings
you can then either tether from USB or via wifi
