New gaming laptop recommendations.

January 25th, 2014

Hello,
Im looking to get a gaming laptop as my current desktop PC is 4 years out of date . I have a budget of about £800-£1000. Im looking for something that will suit hi-end gaming and also general web surfing etc.
I have been looking at some alienware products and found one that i like.
http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-m11x-r3/pd?oc=n00w1v03&model_id=alienware-m11x-r3
But looking for second opinions as im not really down with whats value for money or better off going elsewhere.

Answer #1
I woudlnt ever go with Alientware i think they are over rated and not that good spec It is alot cheaper to get a highend gaming PC rather than a laptop
Just depends which you think suits you best
Answer #2
To be honest, with Alienware, you are paying for the brand name more than anything.
That laptop that you have linked to, only has an 11 inch screen. THAT IS TINY!!
You’d be better off going to http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk
and building your own.
Let me create one for you and I’ll post back the results.

The Alienware one might seem a slightly better spec, but this is because they are only offering an 11 inch screen. Might not seem a big difference, but trust me, it is!!
You’ve saved money on the operating system.
To be honest, all new laptops come packed with a lot of crap with the standard OS.
You’d be better off wiping it and starting fresh anyway!!
You can download that from here… obviously
Answer #3
personally i think alienware are as good as any even if there overpriced, but thats peoples differant views on things??
It is alot cheaper to get a highend gaming PC rather than a laptop
now i tend to agree with that but??
i don’t know what you think of this
