gaming laptop or a regular laptop?
August 7th, 2016
If you want a serious gaming laptop you will need more than 1000$. If you want to game, a desktop would be more appropriate. If you insist on gaming with a laptop then you can buy a gaming laptop.
What do you need broadwell for? You can buy the previous models and save a lot of cash. If you don’t need the special instructions introduced and their optimizations, you will pay a lot more for a a little or non existent performance gain. What is your intended use? If you only watch movies and surf the net, you won’t need a 800$ computer. If you use it the smart way, you will be okay even with less than $400.

Did you even read my post? I said I am not a serious gamer. This would be more then enough for me

You said that you are not a serious gamer but you still haven’t excluded gaming. There is a big difference in saying:”I’m not a serious gamer” and “I don’t play at all”. Even if it’s rare that you play, this can make the difference between buying a gaming laptop or not. If you play GTA V at ultra one time during a month, you will still need a powerful laptop even if you don’t play all days.
Those performance will be useless if you don’t play or you don’t do some specific activities. I’m just trying to save you some money and don’t make you buy something you won’t fully use.
Well, you’ve just answered your own question mate.
IF you don’t game on your desktop, WHY on earth would you be buying a gaming laptop if you’re not going to get your full use out of it?!
A regular quad core laptop with 8gb or so ram and a 1TB HDD will do you nicely.
Found the laptop for me already and it has the 6th gen dual core i5. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-black/4454113.p?id=1219749485864&skuId=4454113
I hope it is good for me.
