New Build

August 7th, 2016

Hi!
I am building a new PC with a budget of Rs. 40,000+Rs. 3000 (Read below for details). Below are the parts which I have already chosen. I will be buying these parts from Delhi, India.
You guys can link to better/cheaper parts from the following links (Although it is not necessary; it would be convenient for me. Also note, I will not buy stuff online ):-
Indian Tech Shop Sites
http://lynx-india.com Is the best in this list
http://theitwares.com
http://deltapage.com/
http://yantraonline.in/
http://smcprice.com/
http://anythinginit.com
Above are better sites compared to the list below.
http://primeabgb.com/
http://techshop.in
http://gadgetsguru.in/
http://www.computerwarehousepricelist.com/
http://www.theitdepot.com/
http://buygamingstuff.com/
http://shopmypc.com/
http://mediahome.in
http://gadgets.in

Note: All prices are approximates. They can be high or low. The ones shown below are their average.
Processor: Intel Q9550 @ Rs. 14000
MB: Biostar TForce TP45D2-A7 @ Rs. 5000
RAM: Kingston 4 GB (2*2) DDR2 800 Mhz @ Rs. 2200
HDD: Western Digital 500 GB @ Rs. 2500
Optical Drive: DVD RW @ Rs. 1100
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 4770 @ Rs. 7000
PSU: Some 500W-600W
Monitor: 19"/20" LCD @ Rs. 6000/6500
Cabinet: ?
OS: Windows 7 RC

Total (excluding PSU & Cabinet)= Rs. 37,800 which would leave me with Rs. 2200 for PSU & Cabinet and for which I would have to extend my budget by Rs. 3000-Rs. 4000.
So total for PSU and Cabinet= Rs.5200- Rs. 6200 ($110-$130)
The Optical Drive and LCD when I buy would be the cheapest when I go out to shop.
PSU & Cabinet are the 2 things which I haven’t decided. I believe I should go for something between 500W-600W.
Cabinet is also undecided and I would most probably buy one on the spot but you can give a suggestion.
This build should last me for 4 years and I also plan to do moderate overclocking and it should also allow me to play games like Crysis, GTA4, etc.
Also, please confirm that these parts will work together.
I think it would also be nice if you guys gave me suggestions on improving the build if I need to.
Also what do you think of the Biostar board I have listed above in terms of overclocking (I wont do much but only moderate)?
Thank you for reading.
Update: Does anyone know a $100 Graphics Card better than the one I have posted.

Answer #1
It’s alright. I wouldn’t change a thing although the graphics card would leave something to be desired. Btw there’s no way you can get a decent PSU / casing for $85. A decent casing alone will cost around $80 and the PSU even more than that. You can’t just get any casing and expect everything to fit especially a CPU cooler if you plan to overclock. The parts will work together and I’ve heard good things about the Biostar board.
Answer #2
Could you then please give a substitute for the Graphics card?
Answer #3
Try to get at least a GTX 260 or AMD 4870 if looking for a long lasting card.
Answer #4
Dude that would be too expensive for me. I would upgrade the graphics card in future if the need arises.
I didn’t mean that I want to use that graphics card (AMD HD 4770) for the next four years, I would certainly upgrade.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
Any more comments?
Answer #5
Not at all. Go for it. Although would be better if you tell what PSU and case you’d be getting before buying.

Answer #7
Well, I am not much of a gamer also, thats why I had selected that card and not some high end card.
Regarding PSU and case I hoped to get suggestions from you guys.
Answer #8
Rs. 40,000+Rs. 3000
Do you mean $3000?
Or do you mean:
40,000RS = 848.18USD?
I can sketch you up a nice build for either, what’s your main goal for this? And what do you need to be included OTHER than the PC:
Monitor
keyboard
mouse
wireless card
etc…
Answer #9
I mean the second one.
Rs. 40,000 + Rs. 3000 means I can extend the budget by Rs. 3000 if the need arises.
I need the parts which I have mentioned in the first post.
My main goal is that I should be able to use it for 4 years (with upgrading from time-to-time like RAM, HDD, Graphics Card etc.) and also be able to play games like Crysis, GTA 4.
Basically a PC for gaming, web browsing, Virtualisation, watching movies, etc.
Thats it.
I would like to have a have a Quad Core as I think that games will start using multiple cores in the near future.
Answer #10
It’s what I would get for 900$ for gaming. You could also swap the 4870 for a 265 etc.. for the same price. Image
Answer #11
Thanks but you forgot a HDD.
Answer #12
Damn.. sorry let me re-do it.
It’s 6:30am, I stayed up all night :/ tired…
Answer #13
Thanks for your effort.
Answer #14
Doubt you can get those prices where you are but worth a try.

I agree that I wont be able to buy your selected components for cheap here in India.
For example your build would cost me Rs. 52,000 (approx.)/$1105; thus out of budget and I could even buy an i7 build with that budget (if I had).

I see, I’ll take another look in a few hours. I’ll check out those Indian sites and fine the products on there. I’m going to take a nap for a bit.
Answer #18
Ok, No problem enjoy your nap
I am thinking of going with the Q9400 or Q6600 instead of Q9550 since there’s not much difference between them.
What do you recommend? Or is there a better AMD Quad CPU at this price point?
Anyways in the mean time I’ll add more Indian tech Shop sites there.
Answer #19
HOPE is infinity
Answer #20
^^
Didn’t get your point.
Answer #21
8600GT is a good card, and for the Cabinet, try going for Cooler Master Elite for around Rs.4k
Answer #22
There is no way you can get a case AND PSU with 100-110 bucks. a PSU alone is 110 dollars. Getting a good case would cost about 50-60.
You should consider a Corsair or OCZ PSU, atleast 700w, incase of future modifications. Also get a full sized ATX tower, a cool master elite, or something similar.
