Network booting

August 7th, 2016

I have a network storage and want to load an OS image in it so that I can install it to my notebook over network. Can some explain to me how can I do that?
Answer #1
realy not simple to do at all.
the technology is called PXEBoot, and requires a computer to act as a server (cant be done with a NAS)
this site may help

thank you , so I needed a PC to act as a server in order to do it. I can NOT do it with a NAS…
Answer #3
no, cant use a NAS. a PXEBoot server identifies itself to the network with a special DHCP broadcast, which NAS’s cant do (not without serious modding anyway)
