I just got Windows XP and want to install it but I don’t want to replace my current OS. Anyone know how to do it?

well if you have an un-allocated area in the HDD just insert xp disc and when the option comes to install it, select the partition that is un-allocated. It will work itself from there. Or if you dont have any, use Acronis true image and free up some space from the primary partition.

Alright I’ll look through it, but is there a way to just use WinXP without having to install it on my pc then? Might save me time
Answer #9
How?
Im not sure about Vista already being installed, cause i have never dealt with a Vista. but since you want to install a copy of XP, if possible get a cheap hard drive and added into your case and install it. but make sure you choose the right hard drive when selecting it to install.
Answer #10
you can opt for the easier where you install XP on another HDD. But when installing have both HDD’s in the pc. Take out either the Data cable (IDE or SATA) or the power cable for 1 HDD when the pc is off. So for example HDD 1 is vista and 2 is XP. If you want XP then turn off the pc and connect HDD 2 only and leave 1 disconnected, then boot up. Do same for other one
Answer #11
I’m thinking about using VMware to just use it from my desktop but it’s confusing as well
