Need help choosing a new router
December 15th, 2018
You can also buy Linksys or Netgear
I would look into customizable routers.
You can use alternative firmware software such as DD-WRT, but not on all routers.
DD-WRT offer some very nice extra features that are not build in the default software.
build your own, smoothwall or ipcop.
Use an old computer and adsl modem. look it up, better than retail varients.
If I was you gigabit should be a priority, along with ddr wrt. Secondly I would think about power lines if you want to reach across the whole house.
D-link DIR-655. period

All links must be coded, including, but not limited to, e-mail addresses, passwords and internal links.
Link(s) coded. ~
Moved from Off-Topic to Helpdesk.
Have you got good bandwidth to handle 1pc, 3 laptops and xbox360 online at the same time ?
I`d set up a home plug system with your router instead of going wireless.
Asus routers have good support for customer firmware. Tp-Link too.
