i cant see the picture, but u need to coonect youre speakers via optic cable and select optical on youre speakers and sound card if you dont have optical connect youre speakers via 6 channel direct cable (front rear center) and select direct on youre speakers and 5.1 on youre sound card(you have a switch behind youre reciver 3ch. & 6 ch. direct switch it on 6ch.) If nothing works tray setting youre speakers on dolby pro logic And if that doesnt work you should buy creative x-fi sound card

Thanks
Where can I get a optic cable from?

f you dont have optical connect youre speakers via 6 channel direct cable (front rear center) and select direct on youre speakers and 5.1 on youre sound card(you have a switch behind youre reciver 3ch. & 6 ch. direct switch it on 6ch.)

All of the speakers r connectedm Direct is chosen on 6 ch direct, but its only coming out of 2 spekers now, and yeah 5.1 is selected on my pc

If nothing works tray setting youre speakers on dolby pro logic

Yeah only 2 work if that setting is on

And if that doesnt work you should buy creative x-fi sound card

Ok will i just need to put it in my pc, then all the speakers will work?
thanks

mmm, how many jacks does your soundcard have to put speakers into? i have the same speakers and have 3 jacks, one for the sub and the other 2 for the other speakers.. i have since switched to optical, the sound is so much better

Well if i just put the green cable into the green jack, only couple speakers work, and if i put them all in then i still get the same sound.
Anyway im just going to purchase a optical cable anyway, which jack do i plug that into/
Thanks

your soundcard will need an optical in connection – check before you go and buy a socket – also on the control box thingy, have you tried selecting different input – not sure if they will help… mmm, trying to think of what else u can try… is dolby digital live enabled?
Answer #8
also, could you take a pic of the back of your soundcard and also pics of your control panel settings (every screen) i will see if they match mine… also what version of windows are you using?
Answer #9
ah – forget about the control panel settings, i was thinking you had a soundblaster X-fi card. have you tried going into your main control panel settings? there is a configure sound option in there where you can chose, 2.1, 5.1 sound etc…

A classic mistake people make is not going into the sound / speakers section of the control panel and selecting 5.1. Once you are in there you can also test eash speaker.
You do not need a optical cable and you certainly do not need a creative sound card WTH. If your speakers are then setup correctly you also need to tell your codecs and players your speaker setup some codec packs ask you your speaker setup during install. Once you got all that done you should be set. I got the exact same speakers btw they are awesome.

I have logitech z5500 speakers and creative fatalty extreme gamers edition sound card.
Logitech z 5500 speakers wont give you 5.1 sound on stereo unless you put them on dolby pro logic decoding on logitech z 5500 reciver whith effect button(which by the way sounds like crap ).
Creative soundcards have X-FI-CMSS-3D decoding chip which creates 5.1 sound out of stereo an X-fi cristalizer which makes sound (i cant describe it)
If you dont want to buy a new soundcard check if you have optical output on youre present soundcard buy a cable, connent it and set on optical on youre speakers receaver (but still you wont have 5.1 out of stereo unless you use Dolby pro logic on youre speakers riciver (which by the way sounds like crap).
Im sorry but you have the best PC speakers available on the market and it would be a shame to run them on crap integrated soundcard becuise if you combine them with creative it is unbeliveble what sound they can create if combined

I reckon its to do with the files you play, all music that are extracted from CD’s are only 2 channel surround.

Hmm how do i tell my codecs? lol, and do u know where i can get these codec packs from?
Answer #15
VERY IMPORTANT this through me for a loop the first time I plugged my speakers on the back there is a switch which effects how the rca min jacks are used by default it is set to treat each jack as a separate input you have to switch this to the other position then you will have your 5.1 and I bet you this is the problem you face right now. I am assuming you are using the 3 mini jacks red-green-black so check that I am almost sure this is the problem. If thats ok and you still dont have 5.1 then google klite top link should bring you to what you need.
