To get the drivers back, download & run
Driver Genius Professional 2008 v8.0.316

got to Control Panel>>Programs >>Programs and Features and check if you have intel(r) graphics media accelerator driver installed.
I deinstalled it once to clear up my pc and my screen got small as well.
If you dont have it you can download it from http://support.vaio.sony.eu/downloads/updates/updates.asp?site=voe_EN_GB_cons&c=0&s=-1&m=0
give in your model and go to drivers, it should be there normally
i hope it solves your problem.
Answer #4
Go to “My computer -> System Properties -> Device Manager” Every driver that isn’t working will have a mark next to it. So you’ll know which driver is missing. Try this program, I’m not sure it needs an internet connection so it’s worth a shot.
Everest Ultimate Edition

Run it..and see if it helps.

Answer #11
I think this might work for you since you have an intel graphics driver. To turn on hot keys do the following:
Right click on your desktop
From “Graphics Option” choose “Graphics Properties…” of course you should have Intel Graphics controller installed in your computer.
Select “Hot key tab” and enable the “Enable Hot keys” check box.
Choose Hot keys as you like. OR this
To specify shortcut keys for specific programs:
Before beginning this procedure, please refer to the documentation that came with the program to verify a shortcut was installed.
1. Open My Computer.
2. Locate the program file (.exe) or the program’s shortcut icon. Right-click the program file or shortcut, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Program tab for an MS-DOS program or the Shortcut tab for a Windows program.
4. With the cursor in the Shortcut key box, select the keyboard key you want to use in combination with CTRL+ALT. Shortcut keys automatically start with CTRL+ALT. The Shortcut key box will display None until you select the key and then the box will display Ctrl+Alt+the key you selected. You cannot use the ESC, ENTER, TAB, SPACEBAR, PRINT SCREEN, SHIFT, or BACKSPACE keys.
Notes
* To open My Computer, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
* Once you assign a shortcut key combination for a specific program, you will not be able to use that key combination with other programs. For a list of shortcut keys used by this version of Windows, click Related Topics.
* If you forget the key combination for your shortcut, you can follow steps 2 through 3 and review your shortcut keys.
* Using shortcut keys to open programs can often be simpler than opening programs using a pointing device, especially when working on portable computers.

I tried the first one and the options are there but it wont let you click on enable or disable hotkeys.
I believe it is a driver or software issue. i have 1 missing unknown driver. It might even be the version of vista i installed i am going to wipe it again and reinstall then install each driver & piece of sony software 1 by 1 from the website. Its just so weird the fn key for sound up and sound down and mute work but brightness wont yet i can change brightness by clicking on the battery icon and going in to power options but the fn brightness keys wont do anything.
