Is there a way i can play a MKV File on my PS3?
If so how or what do i use to play the video?

Install Linux on PS3 and use VLC inside the linux.
PS3 doesn’t have a mkv container plugin.

Convert it to a VOB.
IT’s a simple and painless process. Just google “MKV2VOB” there’s an app designed specifically for it.

or you can use tversity or ps3 media server to strem the mkv from a computer

Just convert it into any video format that is supported is DVDs and VCDs
