August 3rd, 2016

quick and simple:
1. download avi file of Resident Evil: Apocalypse
2. use winavi to convert file to dvd – success
3. use nero to burn the converted files to dvd+r (files are in video_ts) – success
4. play dvd in the dvd player – fail (cannot play)
5. test dvd in pc – success
6. retry all steps 2x – fail
– i’ve downloaded other movies, did the same process and it works fine.
any ideas? if an exact problem is posted, please link it
thnx

Answer #1
Make sure when you are burning the files in nero that nero is burnt as a video disc not as a data disc.
Answer #2
does your dvd player have support for burned media(dvd+r)?
Answer #3
If you’ve had luck before doing this then it’s hard to say.
– Older DVD players can usually only play DVD-R discs not DVD+R.
– Was the disc ‘closed’ when you burnt it?
– Have you tried burning at a slower speed?
– Is your player/tv only NTSC or PAL?
Answer #4
If you are using DVD+R set your booktype to DVD-Rom. Google it. This works with a very old crap Tranasonic DVD Player and the Wii
Answer #5
Use DVDSanta to burn DVD’s. If you are interested I will post the link.

Hi
I have same experience with . I think the problem is not on what kind of dvd rom or dvd+r we use. The problem is on the movie file (.avi) it self. But i don’t know how to fix it. May be some other member can help.
Answer #7
Just try different dvd players around the house. If not then burn again with a different setting. Or do what i do is burn the dvd image then use alcohol 120 to burn the image
Answer #8
check the dvd player region code (NTSC or PAL) and set your dvd burner to the right setting
