Iphone Jailbreaked but not unlocked?

Got an Iphone 2.2.1 brand new out of the box on o2
Activated it with the original o2 sim card through itunes
Used QuickPwn with my t-mobile sim card inserted to jailbreak and unlock
The phone is Jailbroken (apps, games, cydia working)
However it is not unlocked (no signal showing)
I tried manually installing YellowSn0w through Cydia, also reset network settings but both attempts never worked,
I restored back to original and tried several times
Would updating to 2.2.2 firmware and trying on that be worthy or can someone give me a solution?
Information from Google is contradicting, some say I can unlock my firmware with software, some say I need turbo sims etc…
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I bet you have iPhone 3G right?
This model cannot be unlocked at this moment… original iPhone only!
Use it with your official carrier until ultrasn0w is released (yop, yellowsn0w even redsn0w do not unlock your phone)

Turbo sim… But hold on, it is not worthy… Wait a couple of days, ultrasn0w will be released. this sn0w will unlock your iPhone Guyz are working on it realy hard
