Inspiron vs. XPS

I recently went on a Laptop buying spree, and tried out several different laptops.
That includes HP Pavilion, Compaq, Toshiba Sat and Dell computers (both inspiron and XPS). It turns out though that the Dell ones are the most reliable.
Therefore, I’m going to order a dell laptop. The question for you guys is which one is superior and in what manner.
Keep in mind, I’m basically buying this laptop for university and music, with minimal gaming. The most I’ll play is around 1 hour and the games that I usually play are Delta Force, AOE, Cricket… and so on. Meaning that there won’t be much advanced gaming done.
Presume I order the same specs for both, (160 gb, 2gb ram, 2.0 ghz) with 2Duo. Which one do you think I should get and why?
