i tried to upgrade my xp, and got the following error msg

unable to copy ‘abb1cq9j.sys’ to ‘C:\$WIN.NT$.~BT\abb1cq9j.sys.
appears when i trry to upgrade my xp.
I have old xp and its serial no longer works, so i dowwloaded new xp from here and tried to install it over the top, but get that message. anyideas? or recommendations of instalation downloads that do work?

looks like virus or spyware “fake file” to me.
that filename doesn’t bring up anything “legit” on google.

then the windows that i downloaded from here must have spyware in it, thanks,
i’ll try to find a different one.

do you have original XP with no service packs?..or what?
If you just want to still be able to use windows updates, I suggest you get the same tool that I suggested in this thread http://www.google.com?t=1761007
