HP Mini 210-1100

January 22nd, 2020

I was given a HP mini 210-1100 mini computer
Intel Atom (TM) CPU N455 1.66Ghz
1 GB ram
32 bit They installed Windows 7 ultimate on the mini computer and now it runs slow.
Is there a light version of Windows 7 that is made just for this type of mini computer?
If so, where can find and download it?
Thanks,

private trackers and you’ll find it. your best bet is customizing your own OS. safest and quickest way.

Windows 7 ultimate is too heavy for that sort of system..
Maybe Windows 7 Starter…
Answer #4
Upgrade the RAM if you got the cash. I would even recommend Win XP over 7
Answer #5
Thanks,
I ‘ll get the starter windows 7.
I appreciate the feed back.
Answer #6
I’d say Windows XP or a lightweight Linux Distro (Linuxmint XFCE/Xubuntu/Lubuntu) would be your best bet.
I wouldn’t bother with Win7 starter if I were you, Yes it’s lighter than the other editions (But not by much) and it also has many features removed! If you gotta use Win7, Better upgrade the RAM to 2GB and go with the Pro/Ultimate edition.
Answer #7
I installed windows 7 home premium on a acer aspire one, same specs as the OP. it browses the Internet and watch movies just fine. I did tweak the shite out of it though.
Answer #8
I have no problem with Windows XP,
Do you think that XP is light enough to use on the HP mini with 1 GB ram?
Thanks
Answer #9
Yes, it should run fairly well. You could strip it down with nLite, or get a pre-stripped version, like TinyXP, or MicroXP.
But I still would recommend upgrading the RAM. 1GB just doesn’t cut it now a days.
Answer #10
yes, Xp should be fine.
Konstor: if I’m right, the max memory on that netbook is 2gb. running Xp on 1gb ram should be fine and smooth. search for “windows xp performance edition 2009” that should do you nicely.
Answer #11
You are right G0nzai, didn’t think about that
Answer #12
Thanks again,
I appreciate the help.
