How do i backup and upgrade bios?

Answer #1
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Answer #2
Use Asus’s EZ flash utility.
Normally it would go like this.
1:download the latest bios from asus.
2:put the bios file on a USB drive or cd (you may need to shorten the bios file name if it has too many characters)
3:when booting go into Asus EZ flash by pressing f12 or whatever key brings it up (go into bios and look for a bit about ez flash to find out)
4: run ez flash and select your bios file from the drive.
5: watch it update
6 profit?
If you want a backup bios you could always get another bios chip.
edit: i never really looked into this board much, just googled and it’s a OEM board for HP?
You may need to contact HP to source the bios file, it’s unlikely there is a updated bios available from what you are already running.
Answer #3
why do you think you need to update (not upgrade) your BIOS
Asus’s EZ flash utility may offer you the chance to B/U your current one, or the current one may be available at HP/Compaq under your model’s support site
Answer #4
i want to update it because it looks old

Any updated version would look exactly the same.
Answer #6
The BIOS looking old isn’t a valid reason to update it.
Like I said…if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Answer #7

that’s a DOS TEXT type BIOS and you can’t change that
gota buy a new mobo if you want the new smoother looking type (EFI/UEFI type)
Answer #8
My bios is that old, it shows drives I, II, III and IV.
Answer #9
i heard updating it increase overall performance too is it true?

Falce, a new bios could be simply to add support for newer cpu models or to fix a bug, a new bios does not mean it’s going to give you more performance.
Sometimes a new bios can break more things than it fix’s. (hello ABIT)
Answer #11
if there is no real reason to upgrade your bios then you shouldn’t if you screw it up you need a new motherboard.
Answer #12
I agree with Ste#.
bios are really finicky
and if you do something it doesn’t like, you won’t get a second chance
