You will need to unlock it, just Google a guide for your model; I was able to do it pretty easily with my last one.

Answer #3
Well, that will all depends on your carrier, who do you have?

Its AT and T locked US I have no contract with them I bought the phone on craigslist lol trying to unlock to use for tmobile.

If you unlock it then you can use any SIM so if you are “in contract” you can still use that SIM as well as any others. Some phones can take 2 SIMS so you have 2 lines. I don’t know that model phone or where you are (the $ suggests you are in USA?).
I got my Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3 LTE unlocked on ebay here in the UK for 9, but they have issues with ebay now so they opened their own site, so if you are in USA then no use to you anyway – but you can search ebay in your area to find someone to do it.
Most gadget stalls who sell phone cases, chargers etc in street markets will usually unlock them for you but it takes them about 30 minutes to get the unlock code from their contacts.
Look here at this Canadian guy

Always check the feedback from these guys, ie do they satisfy their customers. I am not recommending that ebay guy, just pointing it out for info.

you are legally allowed to do this in the U.S. now, you are no longer locked in to one provider. you need to get Samsung’s IMEI number (usually found by typing in *#06# then pressing Dial on your phone then call the original provider for the unlock code, there’s no need to pay anyone anymore for the unlock code!.

I talked to the at and t dumbasses they said since I dont have a contract or an account with them since I bought the phone used they wont give me unlock code. What If I tried to change IMEI number will that unlock the phone?
Answer #12
nope, since you can’t change an IMEI number. It’s the phone’s serial number. It’s the same thing the cops can use to lock a phone (so you can’t use any of the functions anymore) by remote.
