Helping with burning and converting

Hi i need a program that can convert mkv movies into avi with any problems (convertxtodvd messes up the quality when i watch on dvd) also when i burn the movie and watch it on my tv it looks like the movie is zoomed because it cuts out the letters at the end so i need help on that too.

if above don’t work might like to try allok mpeg4 converter
just tried in on an mkv and it seems to work fine.
I’d go with v2 as it displays the original file dimensions
v4 and v5 don’t <- for some unknown reason.

but when i burn it then play it on my tv the letters are cut off
