Help anyone who has knowledge about IEM’s, in-ear headphones
February 9th, 2020
I am recently looking for in ear headphones Priced around $100. I have done a lot of research and narrowed my search down to 3 headphones which i could buy on ebay – Shure Scl2 – Best price i could find was $105 (RRP apparently is in the high 100’s)
Jays t-Jays three – best price $110 (most accessories) (rrp ~140)
Klipsch Image s4 – Best price $80 (least accessories)(rrp ~ 100)
I use these for general use, listen to a very wide range of genre’s on my iPod etc, sometimes on public transport. I have googled and found countless reviews, all raving about these items. Please if anyone has good knowledge about earphones, help me decide which is the best to buy!
thanks heaps in advance
I know its not one of your choices but why not consider the dre beats also? ive heard nothingbut good with those
just wondering where would these be used?
ipod?
I haven’t tried any of those, but when you’re buying headphones, you get what you pay for.
havnt heard any of these, if i was to chose.. i will chose Sony XB”s!
Nice choices there, quality stuff and durable. Drop shure they are better at their higher priced models but pretty mediocre at this range. I’d probably go for the Klipsch Image.
Thanks guys for your feedback, this is a much harder decision then i thought it would be! if anyone else is knowledgable in this area and knows about Iem’s, please contribute
thanks again guys
Try Head-fi. For me, it was either Klipsch Image S4 or Head Direct RE-0. I’m not a bass lover, and I like having transparent detailed sound, so I bought the RE-0’s. However, I did try both of them out as my friend had both of them. Just want to make a note, Head Direct gets it to you wicked fast if you live in USA. I ordered it and it came in 3 days and I selected their lowest shipping option. It went from NY to CA in 3 days.
Though I had to ship it back because of a manufacturing defect (sound in left bud gone due to wire INSIDE the bud) but HD was very nice about it and promised to send a new one back asap (which they did, they even covered the cost of me shipping back their product).
After several days of use, I was very happy at my decision and I’m never going back to crap like SkullCandy or Bose or Apple canalphones/IEMs. Oh yea, RE-0 does NOT come with a case but the wire, to me, seems more durable than the Klipsch’s one. Also there’s quite a lot of mircophonics, so I suggest wearing these around your ear and use the shirt clip. In any case, first impression and sound signature are a big factor, so don’t be afraid of returning them if you don’t like them. Just make sure you can. Have fun deciding, and I’m sure you’ll love whatever you’ll buy.
EDIT: ah forgot the price of RE-0. It is $80 from the main site and other sites, you won’t find any lower unless used.
